Frequently Asked Questions.....
1.What should I wear for my treatment?
Typically, treatments are performed with the client undressed and covered under a sheet and blanket.  You do have the   option of wearing undergarments during your session.  Your modesty and privacy is always respected.

2.Can I talk during the session?
To receive maximum benefit from the session it is important to keep any conversation to a minimum.  This will allow you to stay in touch with your body throughout the session and be aware of any changes taking place. However, please inform the therapist if you are uncomfortable in any way. After the session you are welcome to discuss any questions you may have with the therapist.

3.How do you know what areas of my body to treat?
Your body is the map that I follow.  I visually observe the mechanics of your body, ask you questions about the areas in your body where you may feel pain or restrictions.  I use that information as a starting point. I then tune into your body with my touch and “listen” for the areas of your body that are “calling” for treatment.

4.What do you mean by a “release”?
A release is your body’s way of reversing the effects of stress on your body.  This may occur in many different ways.  In some sessions you may experience a physical sensation in your body, such as a yawn, a twitch, an impulse to move your body in a certain way or a feeling of heat or cold in a specific area.  You may also experience an emotion or recall a memory.  Sometimes you may not notice a release happening in your body,  however the therapist will feel the release under her hands or observe a change in your body.

5.Do I have to feel a release for there to be a change in my body?
Absolutely not.  Many very deep and long lasting changes can occur in your body without your conscious awareness.

6.What if I have an emotion or memory surface?
Your body is very protective.  It will only allow releases to occur that you are able to manage at the time.  The therapist will help to facilitate the healing process that your body is ready for.  Essentially, the therapist will meet you where you are.

7.Will I feel any pain during my treatment?
Typically, a range of sensations may be felt during a treatment.  At times the pressure may feel very subtle and more intense at others depending on the modality being used at the time and the sensitivity of the area being treated.  The therapist will be sure to keep ongoing communication with the client throughout the session to ensure that the sensation level is manageable and tolerable.

8.If I refer my friend to you will she receive the same treatment I have received?
Everyone’s body and life experiences are unique, therefore each  session is custom tailored specifically to the needs of each individual.  You may notice that each treatment is not the same for each session.  This is because your body is continually changing and the treatments are tailored to meet those changes.

9.What  happens if I arrive late for my session?
Your appointment time is scheduled specifically for you.  If you arrive late the session will end at the scheduled end time.

10.What is your cancellation policy?
Should a cancellation be necessary, kindly give a minimum of 24 hour notice.  Cancellations of less than 24 hours will be subject to a 50% service feel.  If no cancellation notice is given and you miss your appointment, you will be charged a full session fee.
